In my last post, I mentioned that Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s (RLLR) Christian Lundgaard had turned the second-quickest time in both practice sessions today. I also noticed that Jack Harvey had run fifth in both sessions. Conversely, I took note of the fact that my pick to win, Romain Grosjean had run sixteenth and nineteenth quick respectively in the two sessions. Lundgaard finished on the pole and Harvey qualified fourth, while Grosjean qualified eighteenth. Who says you can tell nothing from practice?

Good afternoon from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the GMR Grand Prix. We got a late start this morning. Susan had packed up her “pill box” last night, and was convinced it was in her purse. Magically, it wasn’t there when she checked this morning. Long story short, we looked for said pill box for almost 45 minutes, since it is important she gets her cocktail of medications throughout the weekend. She finally said “Oh, well I’ll just fill up a bottle real quickly and then we’ll go.”. Had I known that was an option, I would have suggested it.

Things are about to get real. For the last couple of weeks, OK…for the last eleven and a half months, we have been romanticizing about the Month of May in Indianapolis. Things really got cranked up a notch, when we turned the page on the calendar – just after the NTT IndyCar Series race at Barber Motorsports Park.

If Tuesday’s episode of One Take Only wasn’t your thing, perhaps you might prefer this episode of Two Sites Unite – the joint-effort between Oilpressure.com and Paul Dalbey from Fieldof33.com. John McLallen and I take a more casual approach to talking about racing and the Month of May, but we also tend to get off on tangents. Paul and I tend to dig deeper into racing subjects – some say too deep – although we can still go off on a tangent or two.

Once again, it’s time for the annual Oilpressure.com Indianapolis 500 Trivia Contest. As usual, there are thirty-three questions (plus a tie-breaker). These questions are not for the casual fan that occasionally watches the 500 on television. But most of you who come here regularly are not casual fans – you are die-hards.

I’ve always been a logo guy. I guess that comes from my college days, when I got my degree in marketing. My wife pays attention to logos too. Susan was an art major and got her degree in graphic design, when computers were very new and a lot of that was still done on drawing boards. As you can imagine, there is a lot of interest in our household when it comes to each logo for the Indianapolis 500.
