Earlier this week, I decided I would take on a new project for this site – a series of posts. I think if you’re a blogger, it’s a post. If you’re a real journalist, it’s an article – so we’ll call these posts. I wanted to devote this series to the silly season. These aren’t necessarily predictions of what I think will happen, rather they are my opinion on what I think should happen. As most of you know, those two aren’t always the same. I figured I had better get started on it before my thunder gets stolen by seats getting filled before I post. Lo and behold, that has happened on the very first one.

Another Reason To Be An IndyCar Fan

Just last week, I wrote a post wondering if most fans of the Verizon IndyCar Series followed just motorsports or if they followed some or all of the “stick & ball” sports. The thing is, Montoya and Team Penske should never have been in a position to allow a mistake in the double-points finale take them out of the championship.

Last week on Trackside, Kevin Lee said something that sort of surprised me. He and Curt Cavin were talking about the offseason and how it affects race fans more than fans of other sports. Kevin stated that most fans of “stick & ball” sports tend to be fans of many sports; but when it comes to motorsports – many racing fans are not fans of any other sports, just racing.

While fans are already upset with the fact that the offseason is upon us, why not pile onto that misery by making another One Take Only video? For those unfamiliar, One Take Only is the unscripted, unrehearsed and unedited videoblog of Oilpressure.com. My good friend, John McLallen, is one of the few IndyCar fans I know in Nashville; so he joins me as we start the camera, then sit and talk racing for a few minutes.

The Pursuit Of Absolute Power

The US government is set up with three basic divisions or branches; the Executive Branch (the President), the Legislative Branch (Congress) and the Judicial Branch (the Supreme Court). In simplest terms, it was set up this way to prevent any one person or persons from becoming too powerful and abusing such power.
