After a torrid week, it was a weekend of redemption for Team Penske. I don’t know how the whole P2P debacle is going to turn out, but after being surrounded by it it all week and then this weekend – I can tell you I’m about sick of hearing and talking about it. Everyone has their thoughts and theories about what happened, and I have mine, too. But at this point I’m ready to put it behind us. I was convinced that a Team Penske car would win this weekend, simply because they were going to use this as extra motivation. That’s exactly what happened.

I’m not quite sure what it looked like on television, but the Children’s of Alabama was an extremely fun race to see in-person. There was mayhem near the back of the field, in the first turn of the opening lap. After that, things settled down to the point I was afraid things were going to get processional.

Most of you that have followed this site for a while, know that I don’t do many interviews. I can probably count on one hand how many actual sit-down one-on-one interviews I have done in the near-fifteen years of this site – and they all occurred within about a six-month period in 2011. IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard, Sarah Fisher and Ed Carpenter were all done in spring of 2011. That summer, IndyCar asked me to meet Indy Lights driver Josef Newgarden in Nashville and interview him.
