Please Note:  This is unrelated to today’s post, but for eleven years I have had poll questions at the end of each post on this site. Unfortunately, I am close to stopping that practice. This isn’t the Gallup organization and these polls are not scientific. Only a small percentage of daily readers vote in it. No IndyCar decision-makers are flocking here to check the poll results each day. They are for fun and for readers of this site to see what other readers are thinking. But for the last month or so, someone has been getting on here and voting multiple times for whatever agenda they have.

For most of Monday, the choice of “Zero races” had only a handful of votes. Suddenly on Monday night in less than an hour, it was the top choice by more than double the second choice. This is the second time in my last two posts this has happened, and has made it where the polls are no longer any fun. It’s a shame that one anonymous troll has to ruin a long-standing tradition here that most people have seemed to enjoy over the years, but that’s about where I am with this. OK, end of rant. – GP

I’ve mentioned before about some of the IndyCar related Facebook groups I belong to. I joined them mostly for the variety of fascinating photographs, some of which I’ve never seen before. My earlier complaint was regarding how irritated I get at some of the uneducated posts and comments – you know, just like the rest of Facebook.

Two of my IndyCar buddies and I are on a group text thread. Whenever we communicate, we rarely allow the topic to venture away from IndyCar. As said here earlier this week, Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) track president Eddie Gossage has made it clear that he had no interest in running an IndyCar race at TMS with no fans. But when NASCAR showed their interest in running at Texas along with the Governor of that state indicated that he wanted to see racing very soon at Texas Motor Speedway – Gossage was all in. Some IndyCar fans bristled at the inconsistent reaction by Gossage, but the explanation was really very simple – money.

My good friend and fellow blogger from Fieldof33.com, Paul Dalbey, has been working from home for weeks – but says he is working harder than ever. I believe that, because I’ve heard that same story from several people.

There has been a lot of conjecture, speculation and debate over the last few days of when and if sports should come back and how it will look on the front-end. Last Thursday, the President unveiled a three-phased plan to re-open the country, with Phase One including sports venues. Earlier last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that he thought the only way sports could come back this summer was if there were no fans.

I read a social media post this week where some claim that if much more is trimmed off of the NTT IndyCar Series season for 2020, that the championship should have an asterisk by it. I know that this is a word that is often mispronounced (astrix and astersk come to mind), but even the spellings in this post were way off. I know I’m guilty of some occasional typos or misspellings, but when the main word is essential to the message of your post is misspelled – it sort of undermines the credibility of what you are saying.
