You probably thought you were going to get through the Month of May without being subjected to an episode of One Take Only. Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that the latest episode is posted below. The good news is that the way our schedules are, there is a good chance that this will be the only one – at least until after the race.

The Mrs. Oilpressure Trivia Contest

Note from George…Just a reminder that I will be posting every weekday in May and also every weekend from the track at IMS, up through my "Random Thoughts" on the Monday after the Indianapolis 500. Please remember to come here for a new post every day in the Month of May.

Now enjoy a different type of trivia quiz from Susan. She has worked hard on this over the past couple of months, talking to drivers, driver’s significant others as well as their PR reps to get some of this information – fifty questions about current drivers for this year’s Indianapolis 500 (note – even though he has not been confirmed, there may be a couple of Oriol Servia questions listed); along with a few questions regarding Mr. and Mrs. Oilpressure that you would know if you are a loyal reader of this site. As an added bonus, she gives better prizes than I do, so give it a try. – GP

To commemorate the ten year anniversary of Oilpressure.com, I have decided to do my own brand of nearly impossible trivia. But this one focuses mostly on the current drivers, instead of those from decades back—but there are a few about George and me. I think this is a good way to know the drivers better off track and maybe a few things about George and me. Almost all of the answers are out there if you search Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. Some of them came from the drivers themselves and their significant others; while some came from this site. Guessing is welcomed—and in some cases, probably necessary.

Just a reminder…Thursday’s traffic was way down from normal. I’m thinking that many have forgotten that I will be posting every weekday in May and also on the weekends that there is track activity at IMS, up through my "Random Thoughts" on the Monday after the Indianapolis 500. Please remember to come here for a new post every weekday in the Month of May. – GP

A couple of weeks ago, a special moment in sports took place as Tiger Woods won his fifth Green Jacket, symbolic of winning The Masters and his fifteenth major gold tournament, pulling within three major wins of tying the great Jack Nicklaus.

This year is the fiftieth anniversary of Mario Andretti’s one and only win in the Indianapolis 500. Of all the years that Andretti was the favorite to win or found himself in a position to win – 1969 was not that year.

A Day of Celebration

Each year on the First of May, I celebrate two things on this site. First and foremost, I take note that our cherished Month of May has finally arrived. I realize that we are still over a week away from track activity at IMS, but just turning the page to our favorite month is enough of a reason to celebrate. May 1 also commemorates the anniversary of the beginning of this site.

A Good Way to Waste Some Time

With the Month of May quickly approaching I thought it would be a good time to catch up with my good friend, Paul Dalbey of Fieldof33.com, and record the second episode of Two Sites Unite – the videoblog that is shared between our two sites. If you were able to make it through our inaugural installment a couple of months ago, you know we went way too long. This time we made a concerted effort to shorten it up quite a bit. The result? We ended up going about two minutes longer than last time, so fair warning.

A Taste of May in April

Overall, the Open Test for the Indianapolis 500 was a success, but eleven minutes in, you had to wonder if the day was going to be a wash…literally. I was able to sneak some fairly significant peeks while I was trying to work this past Wednesday. I’d say that what ended up being an eight and a half hour webcast, I probably caught about half of it, including the last hour that I watched at home. I plugged in my headphones so I could always hear what was being said even if I had to work on day-job reports. Why does any work have to be done in the Month of May? I guess because it’s still April, but it sure felt like May on Wednesday.
