A Blemish on the Month of May
You probably thought you were going to get through the Month of May without being subjected to an episode of One Take Only. Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that the latest episode is posted below. The good news is that the way our schedules are, there is a good chance that this will be the only one – at least until after the race.
For new visitors to this site, One Take Only is the videoblog of Oilpressure.com that we have been doing since 2011. It features myself and my longtime friend John McLallen as we sit in my backyard and talk IndyCar racing. It is unrehearsed and unedited, hence the name. Some people like them, some despise them. Those that read about our last episode that posted about two months ago may recall that there had been some friction between John and me. You will be glad to know that things have gotten pretty much back to normal between us.
In this episode, we discuss the upcoming races at IMS – the IndyCar Grand Prix and the 103rd Running of the Indianapolis 500. We make our picks and discuss the Month of May in general. It lasts about nineteen minutes, so pour a cup of coffee and enjoy (if possible).

Glad to see you two back together. I have that same diecast (bank) in my collection, along with a matching Mikey one.

Mine is not a bank. A bank would have been better. It’s a generic car that Racing Champions cranked out in the early nineties. This one was relatively accurate, but several weren’t. I have one from back then that had a Speedway rear wing and a road course front wing. I’m thinking that one may have been a little loose on the track.

Huh, looks just like mine and mine are actually piggy banks (and heavy!). I swear I can even see the coin slot on yours so I presumed it was the same one. Either way, it’s one of my favorite looking IndyCars, body and livery.

You guys have definitely got that Honeymooners kind of chemistry back in play here. And I’m glad you’re not overdoing it either. Thanks for another episode.
Here’s wishing everybody a great month and good and safe racing.
If you ask me, Chevy will find something in time for the 500. If that’s enough to win it is anybody’s guess. I have a feeling we might see a real positive surprise from an Indy-only entry.
And if the weather over here in Europe is any indication (probably not), it’s going to be a rainy month.

Actually, I’m really looking forward to the Grand Prix of Indianapolis (that should continue to be its name proper because it sounds way less generic than Indycar Grand Prix) because the Indy Roval is quite a unique track on the schedule. Will Honda be an equal to Team Penske at this place again after all those years? Could be. I try not to miss it.
