Good morning from a sunny and warm St. Petersburg. I don’t mean t rub it in, but it is actually hot here. I’m in jeans and a polo, but the first chance I get, I will be changing into shorts.
Greetings From the Streets of St. Petersburg

Be careful for what you ask for, You just might get it. OK…a couple of you asked for it, but now you’re going to get it. As I mentioned last week, One Take Only is not dead – though a few of you probably wish it was. For the uninitiated, One Take Only is the original videoblog of Oilpressure.com. It is unrehearsed and unedited. We start the camera and just start talking. If we flub, you see it – hence the name. It features myself and my longtime friend, John McLallen. John and I have known each other for about twelve years, and then worked together from 2010 to 2017 when my job was outsourced and his was not. While we still worked in the same building in or same offices, we had different employers.
A Qualifying Format I Can Live With

It’s probably a good thing that the NTT IndyCar Series or the Indianapolis Motor Speedway doesn’t ask me for input whenever they are looking to revamp things. My idea of revamping things would be to go back at least a couple of decades, whether it made sense in today’s world or not. Some would accuse me of taking things back to the Stone Age.

For years I’ve made it clear that I don’t consider myself a journalist in any shape, form or fashion. I’m a blogger, which means that I’m a fan that writes about being a fan. I’m very fortunate that I get IndyCar credentials, but I always try to remember my place and never overstep my bounds when I’m at races. I realize those credentials can be taken away if I abuse my privileges.
Why Are Racing Films Usually Bad?

I am told that The Oscars aired last night. Well, I know they did because my wife likes to get on Facebook and critique the fashion on the Red Carpet, much to the chagrin of most of her male followers. But I didn’t watch them. I care nothing about the fashions in Hollywood and even less about The Oscars. It has now devolved into nothing but a chance for performers to spew their generally uninformed opinions regarding current events onto the masses, who are tuning in to be entertained and not lectured to. And occasionally you’ll get the desperate has-been, squinting through bad plastic surgery as they try to seem relevant. I can think of many better ways to spend my Sunday night.
