Greetings From the Streets of St. Petersburg
Good morning from a sunny and warm St. Petersburg. I don’t mean t rub it in, but it is actually hot here. I’m in jeans and a polo, but the first chance I get, I will be changing into shorts.
Other than the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Fast Friday, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen this many people at a track at 10:00 on a Friday morning. To say there is a buzz here is an understatement. And these didn’t seem like people that were here just for the party. These seemed to be very knowledgeable race fans. How do I know that? I’m basing it all on the old vintage T-shirts I saw featuring drivers and tracks from the old CART days. These fans mean business.
As we were winding our way through the crowded paddock, we saw the Indy cars lined up waiting to take to the track for the opening practice of the season that starts at 10:45. In fact, as I type, I’m hearing the cars firing up in the distance, so we are heading out.

Susan & George – If you have an opportunity, please mention to Robert (Wickens) when you see him this weekend at St Petersburg that we are still rooting for him to be back racing.
His determination is nothing less than amazing.

Robert’s interview with Kelli during this morning’s session on NBC Gold was very informative. I hope it means that he will be attending other races.
Have a great time George and Susan!
