The plan was for me to write a post for today on Tuesday night. We had an uneventful drive back from Road America and got back home around 9:00 Monday night. Tuesday morning, I had a meeting for work, about an hour away in Clarksville, TN. I felt somewhat comatose from driving the day before, but that’s normal. Susan was expectedly tired as well.

Another IndyCar chapter at Road America has been written. As usual, this one did not disappoint. There was a huge crowd on-hand for Sunday’s race; possibly as big as I’ve seen here. When IndyCar first came back to Elkhart Lake after being gone for a decade, it was a huge crowd that showed up. Yesterday’s attendance may have even topped that year.

If last weekend at Belle Isle served as redemption for last year’s race for Will Power, the same could be said for today’s race at Road America for Josef Newgarden. If you recall, Josef Newgarden dominated last year’s race at Road America, before his gearbox failed on a late re-start. He finished twenty-first.

Good morning from a sunny and warm Road America. It is much more pleasant than it was at this time yesterday morning. The overcast we woke up to has given way to sunny skies and warmer temperatures. I was wearing a jacket this morning, but I quickly realized it was not necessary. Today’s high is supposed to be around 74°.

As noted yesterday, it seems that Alexander Rossi picked up where he left off at Detroit. Even with a clutch issue in this morning’s practice, Rossi was fourth quick – following Pato O’Ward, Will Power and Alex Palou. This afternoon – Rossi put his No. 27 Honda on the pole for Sunday’s Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America, with a time of 1:44.8656.

I don’t remember much about going to the Emergency Room. Just know that George came home and I was lying on the bathroom floor trying to get dressed. It was the Tuesday after Indy Qualifying. We were admitted and got a room pretty quickly.
