By the time you read this, I will be well on my way to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania for Sunday’s ABC Supply 500. My trip will pretty much mirror what we did last year. I’ll leave Nashville around 4:30 am and head to Indianapolis where I’ll meet up with our good friend Paul Dalbey, formerly of More Front Wing and currently doing photography work for 16th and Georgetown. Last year we left his car with a friend and took my car to Pocono. This year, mine gets left behind. If everything goes according to plan, we should arrive at our hotel near the track at around 6:00 this evening.
A New Summer Tradition

For the past three years, our good friend Paul Dalbey, formerly of More Front Wing, and his soon-to-be wife have made their way to Music City to visit us each August. Does three years in a row make this a tradition? During the previous two visits, we took advantage of his presence to record another episode of One Take Only – the videoblog of Oilpressure.com. For the past seven years, my friend John McLallen and I have done these video segments to mixed reviews. They are unscripted, unrehearsed and unedited. Some love them, some hate them. There is no middle ground. With Paul on here each August, will this become a new summer tradition?
Living Up To Stereotypes

As many of you know, Leigh Diffey called last week’s NASCAR race at Watkins Glen. He is also scheduled to do the broadcast for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race at Michigan. We all know Diffey from being the voice of Formula One races since 2012 as well as being Bob Jenkins’ successor on NBCSN’s IndyCar broadcasts since 2013.
How Much Is Too Much?
Posted in IndyCar on August 9, 2017 by OilpressureSome will find what I’m going to say as odd as I think it is, while others will wonder why I find this odd at all. As you know, there was no IndyCar race last weekend. While I enjoy watching and following IndyCar races, I don’t build my entire weekends around them like George does. But at this point in the racing season, I relish the few weekends when there is not a race.
The Pros & Cons Of IndyCar Racing In Mexico
Posted in IndyCar on August 7, 2017 by Oilpressure
Things are sounding more and more like the Verizon IndyCar Series will be racing somewhere in Mexico next season. In an article at Racer.com, Marshall Pruett reports that IndyCar CEO Mark Miles is having serious dialogue regarding a race south of the border sometime next year.
