The 2022 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama is now in the books. Pato O’Ward avenged his disappointing loss from a year ago, made the winning pass on pole-sitter Rinus VeeKay on Lap 62 and won this year’s race at Barber Motorsports Park.

Good morning from a soggy and still rainy Barber Motorsports Park. The rain everyone talked so much about this weekend, finally arrived around 7:00 this morning. We stayed at our hotel a little longer than planned, not in any hurry to brave the elements. There were red and purple cells in the system, and it looked like we were in for a rough morning. As it turned out, there was some distance thunder a couple of times, but a lot of rain.
Back in the Land of the Living

I have neuropathy in my feet and apparently when I’m tired, it is amplified. I made it through getting acquainted with the track again, but couldn’t really make it through the day, so George took me to the hotel and I had four blissful hours of much-needed sleep.
Barber Qualifying

There is a reason that I don’t do this for my day job. In my last post, I said you could count on Romain Grosjean, Colton Herta and Scott McLaughlin to make the Firestone Fast Six. I said that based on their consistency going from Practice One on Friday, to Practice Two this morning. As usual, I was wrong.

Belated Day Two greetings from Barber Motorsports Park! Susan is feeling much, much better today; but we took it easy at the hotel this morning and didn’t arrive to the track until around 9:00 – just as Practice Two began. We dropped our stuff off at the media center and then headed out to the pits.
