Hello from our second day at Barber Motorsports Park for the Children’s of Alabama Grand Prix. I’m trying to get into the swing of things again and it’s not easy.

Qualifying for Sunday’s Children’s of Alabama Grand Prix was interesting, to say the least. Like the practices this weekend, the starting grid is going to be a mixed bag of young and old, Honda and Chevy, along with haves and have-nots.
Barber–Day Two

Good morning from a sunny and warm, Barber Motorsports Park. It is supposed to be warmer today, with just a very small chance of rain. For those wondering, Susan did well yesterday. She was tired last night, but slept well and she’s ready to go back and do it again today.

A day that had been calling for about a 65% chance of rain, ended up being a glorious day at the race track. Of course, there is the old saying that a rainy day at the track is better than a sunny day at work. But imagine how great a sunny day at the track is – that’s what we had today at Barber Motorsports Park.

Welcome to Barber Motorsports Park in sunny and warm Leeds, Alabama. Not surprisingly, we got away a little later than planned (7:20 am vs the planned 6:00 am). In all fairness, I was a little delayed myself.

As you read this, chances are that Mrs. Oilpressure and I are on our way to Barber Motorsports Park, just east of Birmingham, AL for the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix. This event used to be known as the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. This change represents a five-year agreement with Medical Properties Trust, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Children’s of Alabama – a foundation dedicated to curing childhood cancer.

Until George pointed out that it’s been nine months since I posted here, I would’ve said a couple of months max. Lots has happened since I last posted from the hospital, the first week in August. Last summer just seems like one lost blur, ever since I was admitted to the hospital back in May.
