The way some people are remembered in history is a curious thing. History can be kind to some, where many of their sins are forgotten over a period of time for one reason or another. Others can have their legacy drift away to where they are nothing more than a forgotten footnote.

As I type, I can still say “Good Morning” from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This morning, we deviated from our normal routine. I know that change is normally bad, but since we had to deal with my primitive laptop internet issues yesterday, we never got a chance to go and explore the grounds. Instead of scurrying to the IMS Media Center and putting up a post, we immediately went to the Garage Area to check things out.
Welcome to Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Our personal IMS drought is about to be over. This morning, Susan and I embark on our favorite journey – driving from Nashville to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We will get a slightly delayed start, but for a good reason. Susan is currently about halfway through five and a half weeks of daily weekday radiation treatments. Normally she gets her daily dose at 1:00 pm, but being the trooper that she is, she had today’s treatment moved to the earliest possible time, 8:00 am, so that we could get on the road. Before anyone says anything – this was her idea, not mine.
