Welcome to Road America!

We were BOTH moving slowly this morning, but we are finally all checked in and settled at Road America. They have a new automated system here, where you check in online before arriving. When we showed our phones, we didn’t even need to get out of the car – they brought our credentials and parking pass to us.

It is a Vehicle Protection Company, offering all types of different plans, that are probably better than the extended warranties you field daily calls about.

Putting Words Into Actions

I belong to a few IndyCar-related Facebook groups. Some are better than others, and a lot of times you have to sift through some incredibly inept posts from these groups in order to find something meaningful or enjoyable. For example, in one of these groups just last week – someone started a conversation advocating for lights at IMS, in order to run the 500 at night. Please.

Random Thoughts on Belle Isle

For a track that I have maligned for years, I’ll give it its due. Belle Isle went out with a bang yesterday, as the NTT IndyCar Series ran it’s final race on the island before moving it back to the streets of downtown Detroit for 2023 and beyond. Belle Isle gave us one of the cleanest and most suspenseful race in its thirty-year history.

Random Thoughts on the GMR Grand Prix

It is now Sunday morning as I type this, while I am still in my Indianapolis hotel room. I’ve had a night to ponder what I witnessed on Saturday in the GMR Grand Prix, and I still think it was one of the craziest races I’ve ever seen – much less, been to in person.
