The grid is now set for Saturday’s GMR Grand Prix on the IMS road course. There will be some familiar faces and some different names up front. What is not too hard to believe is that Will Power will start from the pole. It is the Australian driver’s sixth pole at the IMS road course and his 64th career IndyCar pole – putting him within three of tying Mario Andretti’s all-time record.

When I think of the GMR Grand Prix, it conjures up a lot a lot of images of cold damp days. I don’t know whey, because I think it’s only been really chilly here only twice for the Grand Prix since it started running in 2014.

Good morning from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I had an uneventful trip up this morning from Nashville, which is the way I like it. I knew I would miss the first practice, so I was in no hurry.

And so it begins. Today starts of our Month of May activities in Indianapolis. As most of you read this, I am on my way to Indianapolis this morning for the GMR Grand Prix on the IMS road course. Unfortunately, Susan will not be joining me this weekend. She is feeling much better after not feeling well at all at Barber, but she is sitting this one out. She still does a lot of cake decorating for a local specialty bakery in Nashville. With this being wedding and graduation season, May is always tough for her – especially with Barber running so late this season.

It’s a popular pastime for fans of the NTT IndyCar Series to blast whichever network is covering the series – especially the Indianapolis 500. For years, when ABC/ESPN covered five races per season, including the 500 – fans publicly yearned for the day that Versus/NBCSN or NBC could cover the entire series. Once they got their wish, fans suddenly regretted what they wished for.

The tradition continues! This site is now officially in its fourteenth year of existence. Beginning in May of 2009, there has been an Indianapolis 500 Trivia Contest every year except for 2011. Don’t ask me why there wasn’t one then, because I can’t remember. Maybe I just didn’t have the time to come up with thirty-three new questions that year, after doing it the previous two.
The Random Cruelty of Fate

Fate is very fickle. It can randomly smile on someone and bless them throughout their entire career or even their life. It can also be cruel, and allow a mistake in a matter of seconds become a person’s identity and follow them for the rest of their life.
