This past Friday morning, I was going through my Twitter Feed while eating breakfast – my usual routine each morning trying to catch up on any overnight racing news. I saw an item re-tweeted by someone I follow, who has a habit of re-tweeting everything he comes across. Many times, his re-tweets are the very first of late-breaking news; but every now and then, he will send out something that proves to be totally false.

First of all, thanks to all for the personal texts and e-mails I received over the past couple of days. I think when I said I had COVID, others were a lot more concerned about it than I was. My biggest concern was having to burn time-off from work. As my friend Paul Dalbey said – personal time off should be time spent at a race track, and not in bed.

Last week, the NASCAR schedule for 2024 was announced. After many months of being teased about many changes coming to the new schedule; it seemed fairly ho-hum to me. Two items caught my eye, however. One was no surprise to anyone that NASCAR was returning to the oval at IMS. That needed to happen. The Cup cars just didn’t look right on the road course that was originally built for F1 cars – not lumbering stock cars.

If you are reading this, I am assuming you are a fairly hard-core fan of the NTT IndyCar Series. If that is the case, I am hoping you are old enough to remember back in the day when ABC was famous for their use of the Wives and Girlfriends (WAG)-Cam. The two most blatant examples of the overuse of the WAG-Cam were the closing laps of the 1982 and 1989 Indianapolis 500s.
