I cannot begin to tell you how many hours in my life have been spent watching raindrops fall on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Throughout my childhood in the 60s, we sat through entire qualifying days under the shelter of the upper deck of the grandstands. Almost sixty years later, add a few more hours to whatever that total is.

Would Helio Castroneves have become a four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500? What if Rick Mears had not retired after the 1992 season? Would he have won the 1993 Indianapolis 500, instead of his Penske teammate Emerson Fittipaldi and become a five-time winner of the Indianapolis 500?
