If the word “chaos” had been a drinking game, while watching the Chevrolet Grand Prix of Detroit, there would’ve been few people left that were still coherent enough to watch the end. Ironically, that was the best part. Scott Dixon avoided enough chaos to make it to the front on fuel strategy, then held off a teammate, a former teammate and overcame a lapped car on his way to his fifty-eighth career victory and assuming the points lead. It was not a bad day for a driver, who quietly qualified in the fifth starting spot and was not really considered a factor – until he was. Sooner or later, we are going to learn to never give up on Scott Dixon.

The dust has yet to settle from the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500, and The NTT IndyCar Series is on to another race. This time the site is downtown Detroit for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix. Last year was the first year for the new circuit after the race left Belle Isle and moved back to downtown for the first time since 1991.

The 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is now in the books. Some said the race would be pushed to Monday and possibly finished on Tuesday. Others (including myself) said the race would start on Sunday and run the required 101 laps to make it an official race, but would eventually be shortened by rain. Few said it would start on Sunday and run the full 500 miles, but that’s exactly what happened.
