Every now and then, I will allow myself to wander away from discussing IndyCar on this site. Some might ask how I can do that, if I describe this site as devoted exclusively to IndyCar and the Indianapolis 500. Well, first of all it’s my site and I can do what I want to. This eventually does get around to IndyCar, so please bear with me. Most regular readers here know that I am a die-hard Tennessee Volunteer fan. I was having such a good time, that my father finally had to cut me off before I got serious and graduated.

Thursday morning, we learned that the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach, which operates the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, has been acquired by Penske Entertainment. As usual, there have been a few negative comments on social media – but I see this as a good thing. In fact, I’m curious why anyone would think this is a bad thing – unless you just like to publicly complain about anything.
