One part of the new IndyCar schedule that was released on Monday that has been sort of overlooked by fans and the media is the IndyCar Harvest Grand Prix to be held on Saturday October 3 on the IMS road course. While the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is said to be the conditional season-finale, I still have my doubts that it will run in the fall.

Thoughts & Photos From Barber 2009-2019

This past weekend was supposed to have been the eleventh running of the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. It ended up being the second lost weekend of IndyCar racing. Some took solace in watching the iRacing event at Barber Motorsports Park that was broadcast live on NBCSN. I watched about ten minutes of the virtual race at Watkins Glen last weekend, but didn’t watch a minute from Barber. It just doesn’t do it for me. If it helps you get through this period, then that’s great. Different people deal with this time in different ways.

Just when you thought there was no good news to be found, we learned this little nugget – the NTT IndyCar Series will not be awarding double-points at the season-finale this year. Sine 2015, the series has awarded double-points for the Indianapolis 500 and the season-finale.

The Uncertainty Ends For Now

We all knew it was coming, but when it happened it was a very empty feeling. The 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500 has finally been postponed from its originally scheduled date of May 24, to Sunday August 23. Once the Olympics were cancelled, the dominoes started falling.
