Good afternoon from a sunny and warm Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After a good night of sleep and having a leisurely (free) breakfast at the hotel – we arrived at the track around 11:00 this morning. MrsOilpressure is here today and is feeling much better. Although we brought a wheelchair with us, she wanted to leave it in the car. I’m not surprised.

Greetings from Louisville, KY. Before getting into a look at the upcoming weekend at IMS, I wanted to let you know that our weekend plans are fluid at best. Life has thrown us a slight curveball, but we are hopeful it will be a good one. If you’ve followed along here since January, you know that Susan had a couple of setbacks with her health this past winter. She is still carrying around a reminder of what sent her to the ER on New Year’s Day – a biliary tube that drains into an external bag.

The tradition continues! Although things are a little less frequent at Oilpressure.com, there is no change in the coverage for the Month of May. That means that there is another Indianapolis 500 Trivia contest for 2025. I usually begin compiling questions in January and February. As most of you know, my spare time (and then some) was taken up with Susan being hospitalized for the majority of the first quarter of the year. She is much better now, but things were a bit iffy for a while. Needless to say, I had bigger priorities back then.
A Very Under-Appreciated Indianapolis 500

Long before the days of You Tube, I started taping races on VHS tapes. In those days, it was considered quite the luxury to go back and re-watch something you had already seen a few days before. Whether it was a program you had set the timer for, or something you knew you wanted to keep indefinitely – the world of the VCR was the cutting edge of technology that quickly went mainstream.
Random Thoughts on Barber

If this keeps up, FOX is going to want their money back. It’s no wonder that ratings for the last three NTT IndyCar Series races have been abysmal. If I’m not a die-hard IndyCar fan, it’s a tough sale to expect casual fans to tune in and subject themselves to another Alex Palou beatdown. Not only has the reigning IndyCar champion won the championship three out of the past four seasons, he has also won three of the first four races to start off the 2025 season. The only race he hasn’t won this season is Long Beach, where he finished second.
