The tradition continues! Although things are a little less frequent at Oilpressure.com, there is no change in the coverage for the Month of May. That means that there is another Indianapolis 500 Trivia contest for 2025. I usually begin compiling questions in January and February. As most of you know, my spare time (and then some) was taken up with Susan being hospitalized for the majority of the first quarter of the year. She is much better now, but things were a bit iffy for a while. Needless to say, I had bigger priorities back then.
The 2025 Indianapolis 500 Trivia Contest

Long before the days of You Tube, I started taping races on VHS tapes. In those days, it was considered quite the luxury to go back and re-watch something you had already seen a few days before. Whether it was a program you had set the timer for, or something you knew you wanted to keep indefinitely – the world of the VCR was the cutting edge of technology that quickly went mainstream.
Random Thoughts on Barber

If this keeps up, FOX is going to want their money back. It’s no wonder that ratings for the last three NTT IndyCar Series races have been abysmal. If I’m not a die-hard IndyCar fan, it’s a tough sale to expect casual fans to tune in and subject themselves to another Alex Palou beatdown. Not only has the reigning IndyCar champion won the championship three out of the past four seasons, he has also won three of the first four races to start off the 2025 season. The only race he hasn’t won this season is Long Beach, where he finished second.
Barber Preview

This will be the first time ever, that Susan and I will not be in attendance for the IndyCar race at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama. This event started in 2010, and it was the first race I was ever credentialed for. When IndyCar held Spring Training in March of 2009 at Barber, we were there. We drove down from Nashville just for the day, to see the Indy cars run the road course in-person. It was our first-ever visit to a road course.
Welcome to the Month of May!

Welcome to the Month of May! It’s odd that we have a race coming up this weekend, four days into May – and it’s not at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Personally, I don’t care for Barber being run in May. Call me old-school, but I think any IndyCar track activity in May should be reserved for IMS. I’ll have a Barber Preview up here tomorrow, but today we will focus on welcoming the Month of May.
What a Way to End the Week!

But it’s only Thursday! At the beginning of this week, I was not sure if either of us were even going to be able to attend the Open Test in Indianapolis. This week started with us in Louisville to be seen by Susan’s surgeon, to evaluate her for a procedure. We didn’t know if they were going to do it sometime this week or not. Once we found out it would be in a week or two, we went home. Tuesday night, Susan was so tired from the Louisville trip – I wasn’t sure if she would be coming with me or not.
