Although it won’t be officially announced until tomorrow (Tue Oct 8), it is widely accepted that the NTT IndyCar Series will stage a race sometime in the spring of 2026 in Dallas. It is presumed that Jerry Jones, owner of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys is involved and that the circuit will go around or be near AT&T Stadium – home of the Dallas Cowboys.

There are a lot of unhappy people out there in the IndyCar world these days. Team owners, series officials, media types and fans all seem to be struggling to smile recently. Over the years, I’ve referred to them as The Legions of the Miserable or The Humorly Challenged – realizing that there really is no such word as “humorly”. In early July, it was announced that Alexander Rossi and Arrow McLaren would be parting ways. I immediately came to the conclusion that the 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner had been fired – another casualty of being employed by Zak Brown. As it turned out, it actually was a mutual parting. I have stayed mostly silent on this topic for one main reason – I didn’t feel I knew enough about it to speak halfway intelligently on it. Plus, nothing was official until yesterday morning. Now that it has become official, I think I understand enough about the basic framework to at least discuss it – although I’m not sure what my overall opinion is.

If you have followed this site for very long, you know there are two things that I don’t do very much of – interviews and breaking news. This is more of an opinion site. I let others do the interviews and the reporting. Then I sort of take it all in, let it digest and then give my take on it, for what it’s worth. That and $7.95 will buy you a cup of coffee at Starbucks or whatever trendy, pretentious and over-priced coffee shop you frequent.
