But it’s only Thursday! At the beginning of this week, I was not sure if either of us were even going to be able to attend the Open Test in Indianapolis. This week started with us in Louisville to be seen by Susan’s surgeon, to evaluate her for a procedure. We didn’t know if they were going to do it sometime this week or not. Once we found out it would be in a week or two, we went home. Tuesday night, Susan was so tired from the Louisville trip – I wasn’t sure if she would be coming with me or not.

It dawned on me today that the last time I was at IMS, was probably the longest day I ever spent here. I have been coming to this track since 1965, and I know for a fact that no day was as long as Race Day was last year. We arrived at the track at 5:40 am and left around 10:00 pm, after about a five-hour rain delay.
Welcome to IMS in April!

The 50th Running of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will take place this weekend on the Streets of Long Beach. This is also the 50th anniversary of the first race was run on those now-famous streets – a Formula 5000 race won by Brian Redman, that was actually run in September of 1975. Normally if this was the 50th anniversary, that would mean this year’s race would actually be the 51st running of the event – but COVID threw everything off by a year.
