One of the (many) problems with old age is that things that were once considered an annoyance, eventually become big enough problems that they need to be fixed. Such a malady has finally caught up with me. For years I boasted that I have never had surgery. I reached the age of 66 back in October and was still able to make that claim. After today, it’s debatable if I still can – but I think I’ll just call this a procedure. Yeah, let’s call it that – a procedure.

This eventually does get around to IndyCar, so please bear with me. Most regular readers here know that I am a die-hard Tennessee Volunteer fan. I grew up a Vols fan all my life, and spent my college career at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I call it a career because I stayed longer than most. I was having such a good time, that my father finally had to cut me off before I got serious and graduated.

The other day, I mentioned that “…there is still a good chance that Romain Grosjean will end up returning to the No. 77 at Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) – possibly with Conor Daly as a teammate”. While that possibility has not been totally taken off the table, Grosjean himself threw some serious doubt on that outcome, as was chronicled in an article by Marshall Pruett on Racer.com this past Monday.

There are still five open seats remaining in the NTT IndyCar Series for 2025; Two at Dale Coyne Racing (DCR), two at Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) and one at Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL). There is still a good chance that Romain Grosjean will end up returning to the No. 77 at JHR – possibly with Conor Daly as a teammate. But the other four seats are fairly wide-open.
The Times They Are a-Changin’

This past Sunday was a dreaded day, by many. Others, like me, never give it much thought. It was the day of the time change from Daylight Saving Time (DST) back to Standard Time. Each year, there is a groundswell of support to either abolish DST or establish it year-round. It probably won’t surprise anyone to learn that I’m in favor of neither. I prefer keeping things the way they are. Change is Bad!
