This IndyCar Silly Season has been one with many more bombshells than usual. It’s as if after Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing surprised everyone with signing Pietro Fittipaldi out of nowhere, Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) said ‘Hold my beer” about three days later.

If anyone tells you they knew Pietro Fittipaldi would be named to the No. 30 car of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLLR), don’t believe them. Most people, including myself, fully expected Juri Vips to be named to the ride.

This past Friday morning, I was going through my Twitter Feed while eating breakfast – my usual routine each morning trying to catch up on any overnight racing news. I saw an item re-tweeted by someone I follow, who has a habit of re-tweeting everything he comes across. Many times, his re-tweets are the very first of late-breaking news; but every now and then, he will send out something that proves to be totally false.

This may be an unpopular take, but I was a little disappointed in the Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) driver announcement this week. First of all, we got word on Twitter late last week that JHR would be making an announcement to their driver lineup on Tuesday. It didn’t happen.
More Questions than Answers

First of all, thanks to all for the personal texts and e-mails I received over the past couple of days. I think when I said I had COVID, others were a lot more concerned about it than I was. My biggest concern was having to burn time-off from work. As my friend Paul Dalbey said – personal time off should be time spent at a race track, and not in bed.
