This may come off as one of those rants that insists that we go back to the days of front-engine roadsters, open-faced helmets and drivers in T-shirts. I’ll assure you, that is not my intent. If it sounds like that – my apologies. I also want to make sure that you understand that what I am about to say probably won’t happen. But it’s good fodder for conversation in a long, cold winter.

If you are a regular reader of this site, you probably remember that I had to put down my thirteen year-old yellow lab named Luckey, this past October. Luckey was a rescue dog from the Nashville Humane Shelter in 2003. She was discovered by Susan, who was still nine years away from becoming my wife, but was a regular volunteer there at the time.

A couple of months ago, I attended a conference for my job that inspired nothing but yawns from me before I went. How wrong I was! The topic ended up being fascinating. It was essentially about how Millennials (those born between 1982 and 2000) will shape the workforce in the coming years. It also went into how they will mesh and clash with my Baby-Boom Generation, along with Generation X.

After a nice break for Christmas and New Year’s, it’s always good to get back to normal. Part of normal for me is getting back to the routine of posting here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The offseason always seems to grind to a halt around the holidays, but now that we are into the new year – I expect things to pick up quickly. After all, just two months from today will be the first day of practice for the opening race in Brasilia.
