IndyCar Should Copy Michael Andretti

One of the arguments for ending the Verizon IndyCar Series season before Labor Day, thus avoiding the NFL; is that IndyCar and the NFL share the same demographics. It seems that many who read this site consider themselves racing fans way ahead of being a football fan, but that’s what the studies show. I happen to fall into the category that the demographic studies show – a fan of both football and IndyCar racing.

We Can Once Again Travel To Races

The fact that my smiling face has not been up here in a while was not by accident. As most know, my life took a dramatic turn almost two years ago when I lost my job in January of 2013. After only seven months into our new marriage, I found myself unemployed for the first time in my life. To say I was devastated would be putting it lightly. I focused all my efforts on getting a job in my chosen profession as a graphic designer and came up empty.

AJ Foyt Is Finally Moving Forward

The interest of full disclosure would dictate that I get it out up front that I am an AJ Foyt fan. I always have been and always will be. Growing up in the sixties, when people actually followed open-wheel racing – you were either a fan of Mario Andretti or AJ Foyt. You couldn’t like both. That’s like claiming to be a fan of the Bears and the Packers. It’s virtually impossible.

A Schedule With Few Surprises

As expected, the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule was announced this past Thursday. Also, as expected – there were no real surprises. Curt Cavin had already prepared us for what to expect, so that was one reason there were no surprises. I know in this day and age, it’s hard to keep a secret – but every now and then, I’d like to find something in some of these press conferences that catch me completely off guard and blow me away. That didn’t happen Thursday.
