It’s Pole Day at IMS!

Good morning from IMS! What a difference a day makes! Yesterday was dark and gloomy for most of the day. Today is hot, sunny and muggy.

The only incident in the morning practice was when Takuma Sato barley brushed the wall coming out of Turn Three. Other than a scratched wheel, the car seemed fine.

People are complaining that drivers should get a second-chance today. I’m liking it the way it is. The pressure is on. Get it right the first time. If you bobble on a lap, too bad! There are no mulligans today.

The heat will slow the cars down. Alex Palou will be at a disadvantage going thirty-first. That should be just before 3:00 – the heat of the day.

I’ll be back here at the end of the day with a complete qualifying wrap-up.

It would have interesting had they had to fit qualifying into one day had there been bumping this year.

  2. Might be a few more people than yesterday. 🙂

Very happy to see everyone made it through without a major incident. Also very happy to see Conor Daly and Santino Ferrucci make it to the final 12. I do however miss the extra attempt portion of qualifying that would have happened yesterday had it not rained. But I guess it’s the best we can do under the circumstances.
