It’s Qualifying Day at IMS!

Welcome to a very wet and dreary Indianapolis 500. As predicted, rain swept through this morning and there is reportedly more on the way. We did sleep in with the rain and arrived just before noon.
This takes me back to my childhood. I can’t tell you how many hours we spent on Pole Day in the 60s watching trucks circling the track. As I glance out the window just to my right, that’s exactly what I see right now.
When we first got out of the car, I was a little surprised that I did not hear the jet-dryers running. Maybe they know more rain is coming. I imagine those things drink the fuel.
We are going to go grab some lunch and wait on the weather. Stay tuned and check back here later.

I’m told the jet dryers don’t run while it’s raining. Each dryer can only run for 45 minutes before it needs to refuel.
