For the first time this season; Welcome to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway! I was late leaving Nashville this morning, and I can’t blame it on season. Instead, I’ll blame Mother Nature. Storms ripped through Nashville last night. I got up at 4:00 and it was still going strong. Storms ended around 4:30, but oddly enough – our power went out at 5:30. I was already running behind and still had some packing to do. Finishing up with a flashlight did not speed things up. Oh well, I got here eventually.

I missed the veterans session this morning. The rookies and refreshers are on the track now. Katherine Legge is not out there due to an electrical issue. She will still need to complete her refresher before she can take the track with everyone. There have been no incidents so far, and that’s a good thing. It is cool and windy here, but sunny.

I am going out to make a few purchases at the gift shop, and then get out trackside when the track opens for everyone. I will be here at the end of the day with a wrap-up and photos. Please check back later.
