Good Morning From IMS

Good morning from a sunny, but very windy Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Although today is named Fast Friday, I’m not sure we will see dramatically increased speeds today, regardless of the increased boost that is allowed today and this weekend.

This is not just a stiff breeze. These are major gusts going we’re having here today. I would think twice before throwing my car into Turn One, while pushing the envelope. If Romain Grosjean came close to sticking it into the fence yesterday, I hope he can duplicate those saves today. This afternoon will not be for the lighthearted.

The high today is projected to be 86. There is some cloud-cover, so maybe the track temperatures won’t get quite so high. High winds are bad enough. High winds on a slippery track is worse.

It has been a pretty clean month so far. My hope is that it stays that way through the day.

We are about to go grab a bite to and hopefully finish up in time to catch the green flag for practice. I’ll be back here at some point today. If you’d like, you can follow us on Twitter. You can follow me at @Oilpressureblog or Susan at @MrsOilpressure. Please check back later.
