A Quick and Immediate Reaction
Just minutes after Sunday’s qualifying session ended, Paul Dalbey (Fieldof33.com) and I decided it would be a good time to shoot a very quick episode of Two Sites Unite. This one is different from our first two episodes in a couple of ways. First, we were actually both present at the same location (IMS) and didn’t have to resort to Skype. The other difference was that this one was actually short.
Our first episode was forty-seven minutes. After making sure we trimmed it down significantly for our second episode – it came in at forty-nine minutes. This one, however, was just short of nine minutes. It’s amazing how the threat of a thunderstorm approaching the track can motivate you to speed things up. We were also looking to get on the road.Unfortunately, the clouds you will see did dump a lot of rains on The Speedway not long after we finished taping. Just as unfortunate, Susan and I did not make it home until after 1:00 Monday morning, and that was after gaining an hour crossing back into the Central Time Zone.
Keep in mind we were only about twenty minutes removed from watching qualifying and watching Kyle Kaiser bump Fernando Alonso from the field. If we come off as a little “over-the-top”, it’s because we were probably still on an adrenaline rush. There’s nothing like being there when it happens.
So give us less than nine minutes of your time as we come to you from the third-floor terrace of the IMS Media Center. A special thanks to Susan for hand-holding the camera while we talked, and an apology to her for not asking her who her pick was for the race.

Good stuff fellas. Though a sharp end of a NASCAR grid made up of Joey Logano, Erik Jones, and Paul Menard is probably not too likely (mostly because of Menard).
Funny enough, when IndyCar is on a road course, the #20s in both series are piloted by E. Jones-es, who were both series rookies of the year in the same year.

RIP Niki Lauda who made one of the greatest comebacks of all time to race again after a relatively short recovery period. Regarding Susan: To the best of my knowledge you have never involved her in your little amateur productions. I am quite sure she could add more than just holding the camera.

That’s not true. Here’s her one and only appearance from Christmas 2014. I don’t think she was very comfortable in front of the camera.

I sit corrected.
