Carb Day at IMS
Good morning from a hot and already crowded Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It’s Carb Day and the place was packed and buzzing with early morning partiers when we were sitting in traffic at 9:30. It’ll be a good crowd today. Susan took a panoramic shot of the crowd already here at 10:00.
It is supposed to be hot all weekend, including today. The high today is supposed t be 88-degrees as well as tomorrow. Race Day on Sunday looks to be even hotter with a predicted high of 92. The only mention of rain is for Saturday afternoon. If it has to rain anytime, Saturday afternoon would be the time to do it.
The absolute final practice starts about ten minutes from now. I’m going to head down for it since it only lasts one hour. Afterwards, we will roam the garage area and then watch the Freedom 100 and the pit stop competition.
I’ll be back here at some point throughout the day, but probably mid-afternoon when the bands start playing. That’s when I retreat to the safe haven of the media center.
