Welcome To Carb Day At IMS!

Just a quick post here to say we made it in time for the first practice, which starts in about ten minutes from the time I type. The crowd here is maddening. That’s good if you’re IMS and want to see this event grow. It’s a pain after you’ve been here for the past two weekends and grown used to manageable crowds.

This is a first-world problem, but our media parking lot was full at 10:00. That’s a product of the presence of Fernando Alonso being here. I’ve heard unofficially that media requests jumped by a third after it was announced that Alonso was coming. Plans for credentials were already in place when the late announcement was made. The media parking is now full and the IMS Media Center has a buzz that is usually reserved for Race Day. Unfortunately for Susan, Sunday morning will come even earlier than usual.

Anyway, the sun is shining (today, anyway) and Indy cars are about to take to the track. I’m going to go join them. Meanwhile, follow me on Twitter at @Oilpressureblog and Susan at @MrsOilpressure. Back in a bit. Check back later.
