It’s Fast Friday at IMS!
Welcome to a warm and sun-drenched Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We have been to many Fast Fridays over the years, but I have never seen traffic lines for parking lots like I saw this morning. With all of those years comes experience of knowing a few short-cuts around the neighborhoods just west of the track. I imagine a lot of the people we bypasses are still sitting there waiting.
We got here just as a press conference with Mark Miles and Doug Boles was breaking up. It was to announce next weekend’s race was approaching a sellout and that the local blackout for the FOX broadcast has been lifted. Although that’s an announcement that should please everyone, I’m sure there will be some disgruntled fans that will be upset about that. It’s always amazing how the Legions of the Miserable raise their ugly heads at the strangest times.
We are going to go grab some lunch and then head out trackside to catch the first of fast Friday. Please check back later.
