I’m Alive

I’d like to say that I’m like the Energizer Bunny—that I “Take a Lickin’ and Keep on Tickin,” (or was that Timex?) but I have realized with my advancing age that keepin’ on tickin’ is a relative concept. I am here in the Media Center and I have taken forays out to our regular spots. I have shopped. I have eaten well. I have seen friends I have not seen since before the Nashville race, where I was out of commission as well. I was just not able to buck the doctor’s instructions and go walk around for a few miles post-surgery because I was captive in the hospital.

George has been very tolerant of my post-procedure self. You’d think that walking around would get to me, when the reality is—standing still makes me really tired. I have to lean against someone or something to be able to tolerate it. So forgive me if I wave and walk on, if I see you at the track. I can stop and talk for a few minutes, but standing still is my kryptonite. I’m having fun, just fun on the run (or walk I might add).

Speaking of shopping, there’s a new merchandise tent (you can’t really call it a tent, its more of a semi-permanent building behind the Media Center and it is fully stocked!) That leaves two large Merchandise stores besides the one at the Museum. I guess they built the third one near the Media Center to take some of the crowd away from the Museum. By the way, if you are planning a trip to the IMS Museum, you should buy your tickets soon, they expect a sell-out race weekend. We are planning on going to the museum on Legends Day. I will probable break out sooner than George and his brothers—they like to look at everything and read ALL the signs. Maye I will see you there—I’m planning on it.

  1. Susan, you are the Energizer Bunny wearing a Timex!! I’m happy you were at the track this weekend. Thanks as always for all of the candid shots of the drivers. I enjoy them and am inspired go to a race next season. Take care.
