While that could be the title of a country music song, it instead describes the conditions at the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix this morning. Susan did not join me this morning. Yesterday’s heat about did her in yesterday. She wants to rest up and be ready for the race tomorrow. She took pictures yesterday and will email her post to me early in the afternoon, so I’ll post it when I get it.

We live in the western edge of Nashville, and it was absolutely pouring when I left the house. It was only a drizzle when I arrived at Nissan Stadium, but it is headed this way. With five minutes to go, they still plan to start practice as scheduled. Whether or not it goes the distance is another story.

I am heading to the pits. Hopefully I won’t get too wet. Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 1:45 pm local time. Hopefully the weather will allow it to run as scheduled. Please check back later.

Update: As soon as I posted this, they announced that practice is on hold. Fortunately, I heard this on my way out the door. I turned around to stay dry. From the looks of the radar and the puddles, I’m not sure this practice will happen. Stay tuned!
