It’s Qualifying Day For The GP Of Indy
Welcome to a busy Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Although our goal was to be here for the morning practice at 11:00, that…um, didn’t happen. We checked into our usual hotel and arrived at the track about 1:45 local time. In less than an hour, the IndyCars will qualify for tomorrow’s Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis.
Scott Dixon was the quickest in the morning practice with a time of 1:10.6971. Will Power, Juan Montoya, Sébastien Bourdais and Helio Castroneves rounded out the Top Five. The fourth Penske car of defending race winner Simon Pagenaud was sixth, followed by Sebastian Saavedra. Takuma Sato was the fastest Honda in eighth, followed by Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball to complete the Top Ten.
The Indy Lights race is now going on, so we are going to wander out and watch it. I’ll be back for a wrap-up of Verizon IndyCar Series qualifying later today. For instant photos and comments, follow me on Twitter at @Oilpressureblog or Susan at @MrsOilpressure. Check back later.

Until Honda solves its F1 problems you can forget improvements in IndyCar. They may have something for the 500 since it’s the only race they care about.

I am certain that the F1 and IndyCar efforts don’t share a single member of personnel or a single dollar of corporate budget.
