Again, It Rains At IMS

Well, I suppose if the heavens opened up for the next two days – the field for the 98th Running of the Indianapolis 500 would be set. The field has thirty-three qualified cars now and it has been raining for about the last thirty minutes. But it has stopped and I see brighter skies to the west, so I think we will see more track activity later in the day.

If not, the Fast Nine will be set. Currently, the Fast Nine includes (in order) Will Power on pole with an average speed of 230.323 mph, followed by Ed Carpenter, Simon Pagenaud, JR Hildebrand, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Kurt Busch, Marco Andretti, Helio Castroneves and Jack Hawksworth. If today ends up being a wash, the pole will be decided between those nine drivers tomorrow.

Back in a bit.
